Paddington Bear lives at number 32 Windsor Gardens, Notting Hill, London, England. He lives with the Brown family. There’s Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown, Judy and Jonathan, their children, and Mrs. Bird. Paddington’s room is on the top floor, in the front. Nearby, on the Portobello Road, among the many antique shops and stalls, is a shop owned by Mr. Gruber. He has become a particular friend of Paddington, sharing a cup of hot cocoa in the late morning and taking him to see the sites of London.
For my part, I feel quite lucky to have had the chance to draw pictures of Paddington’s various adventures. His is not an easy likeness to capture -- he often hurries -- but, Mr. Bond has not reported any complaints from Paddington to date, so I feel doubly lucky.
Here’s a list of the Paddington picture books, shorter story books and board books that I have made drawings for. Many have been translated into other languages, but you’ll find most of the english editions available through Barrington Books.
